The Lies of pictures

I picked the picture of Katie Couric because this picture to me showed the most drastic change from the original. The first photo was released by CBS. The Other picture came from the September issue of Watch magazine. This photo has many alterations that made the picture more ascetically pleasing. The first is the obvious slimming down of Katie Couric. In slimming down Mrs. Couric's body, the person shortened her shoulder width, and then took most of the fat out of her body. Then the light was dimmed and took it's reflection out of Mrs. Couric's face. This took the yellow out of the picture and darkened it. This manipulation was done because CBS didn't want to draw anyone away from watching Katie Couric. Also, Mrs. Couric didn't want to show the world what she looked like and showed the audience what they wanted to see and not what she really was. Manipulating pictures is just the same as lying to someone. They misrepresent the truth which could have serious consequences to people who participate in the altering of photographs.

Going Wireless

I like having a fully wireless campus, so I can do homework for class wherever I choose. Also, if I need help on homework or a project I can bring my computer to a friend’s room and not have to worry about having enough Ethernet cords for everyone. It is also, good because my RM had our whole group together to play the Wikipedia game. The game is where you start at one subject on Wikipedia then using the links you have to get to the other subject in the least amount of steps. There are many articles on college campuses around America going wireless. The one I found is by USA today, just click link to see it.
